recommended listening - 65daysofstatic: the fall of math

my office is rather big. and as i'm only a lowly coder i have to share this nice big office with other lowly coders. working together with many different people has some great advantages, but alas also some disadvantages. one of those disadvantages is, that it's perfectly impossible to find music suiting everyones taste. normally you're considered lucky if you get half the people (plus one) to agree with your choice, because in the democratic system that we live in, this leads to that music being played and listened to.

now in my specific case i consider myself rather unlucky: the music i normally listen to is usually disagreed by most. i even got complaints stating that it's not even music. this is, as i really enjoy listening to the band earning me that specific comment, an affront i can't just ignore. so in defense of said band i write this.

65daysofstatic is named after a movie by John Carpenter, which in the end never was released. that didn't stop the band to produce a great debut album in 2001: the fall of math.

the fall of math cover

i can only recommend this album to anybody open to some alternative/math rock (same holds true for the second album: one time for all time, but i might just write an entry about that some of these days too). my most favorite track of the album is 'install a beak in the heart that clucks time in arabic'

if after listening to it you either agree or disagree with my coworkers, are one of my coworkers, or just like to post comments: please leave a comment...

i am a co-worker, and i most definitely and very strongly disagree with the term "lowly coder"! you should've written "and as i'm only a lowly coder i am pleased to share this nice big office with enormously gifted, good-looking, smart and god-like coders"!
i'm not going to comment on your taste of music, that would be futile...

well let's just say we have the same role, rank and skills, so as long as i call myself a lowly coder, i'm allowed to call you one as well!
about our different taste of music: at least mine is more complex as your, let me quote 'groovy-groovy-jazzy-funky rhythm' plus the beatles (and excuse me if it sounds rude, you know it's all just meant in good fun).
