afkcaec: away from keyboard, cellphone and even clock

back now, but it was a well needed escape

to make the story somewhat meatier:
i went to lake thun on thursday and stayed with friends in a great vacation flat. during the day we went swimming and roasted our bodies in the sun. in the evenings there was lots of eating, drinking, laughing and having a great time.

i wish i could do without even a clock more often...

beauty and the internet

sitting in a beauty and relaxation spa i'm once again connected to the intertubes.

nothing much happend since saturday: i spent my time equally divided by eating, walking, sitting in trains and sleeping, also at times i combined those things whenever possible. apart from that i spent two hours practicing judo, and another half hour ordering shoes.
somehow i don't think i make to much use of my time here.;

somewhat lost in translation

we got lucky and landed with baggage and without delay on tuesday last. even though we had to change at the new terminal 5 of london heathrow which supposedly was choatic as employees were on strike. like i said, supposedly.
for all those less lucky passengers whose baggage didn't make it, they were nice enough to provide a sign which informed them of the fact. the sign was big.

the first day we spent eating dinner. twice.
on the second day we bought cellphones for everyone and then went north to sendai, where we went for a tour in a fishing boat and killed a lot of fishes, crabs and shells. also we ate them. mostly raw.
we also visited a whiskey brewery, drank more sake than was wise and climbed up a hill full of shrines and temples. maybe not in that order.

today i came back to tokyo, deposited my luggage at the kodokan judo institue and came here to see if the internet still works. there was a huge commotion on my way here because somebody jumped in front of a train.

on graduation

last wednesday was the graduation ceremony where i was to receive my diploma.

arriving just in the nick of time, i sat down missing out on the elaborate seating order. so after the usual speeches and classical music interludes when the whole first row of people stood up in unison, went up on stage, and was presented their diplomas after being announced name by name i figured that either the head of the department was a psychic or i missed out on something important.

needless to say i wasn't on stage when my name was called...
